“ The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 has some of the best features and performance available for a digital camera its size and price. It is so small you can easily take it anywhere. Its 7.2 megapixels of resolution will make excellent prints up to at least 8Χ10 and acceptably good prints up to 16Χ20 - providing your image was properly exposed. Easy Mode will allow even the least sophisticated photographer to enjoy taking quality pictures. The LCD and lens are great.

I was resistant at first, but now I’m actually considering buying this camera for myself. It would never replace my bigger, higher-end superzoom compact digital camera - or the compact DSLR that I am coveting - but it would be great to pop it into my purse for Girls’ Night Out or into the optional $99 waterproof housing for summer float trips. It will capture the memories well enough, and it’s not going to break the bank if it gets stolen, soaked or dropped.

But is this the camera I want to carry with me 24/7 in case I spot an incredible moonrise or an elk along the trail? Is this the camera whose photographs will elicit oohs and ahhs from my friends and colleagues? No, it’s not... ”

“ If you're looking for a cheap, slim, stylish camera for general snapshots the Casio Exilim EX-Z77 has a lot in its favour. It is well made, easy to use, looks good and has good fast performance. It has an excellent autofocus system and works well in low light despite its lack of an assist lamp. The only real drawback is overall image quality, especially considering the results from some of its rivals. However on value for money it's hard to beat... ”

“ After reading the Snap Shot review and seeing what the other sites said about this camera, I'm willing to agree with them. Their's nothing to inspire on this camera, it simply plods along.

The results are decent enough, so I won't say to stay away from the camera. The Family first face detection is great, but it's not innovative to this model... ”

“ The EX-Z77 maintains the same slim profile and control layout as the Z75. You can access most functions through the camera's large, circular joypad and the four narrow buttons clustered around it. Besides simple menu navigation, these buttons also access the camera's collection of Best Shot scene presets, open its system menu, and toggle between record and playback modes. While the control buttons feel a bit too small and flat, the joypad and zoom buttons fit comfortably under even large thumbs... ”

“ While the Casio Exilim EX Z77 is a mid-range model, it has a few classy features that make it look attractive. Better than average image quality help too and the improved face priority AF set up is uncanny.

The price is nice and the handling is the fiddly side of easy so if you really must have optimised for YouTube video capture, the Z77 might be the camera for you and worth a closer look... ”

“ The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 continues the tradition of its predecessors - providing a slim, stylish camera at a budget friendly price. It doesn't win any image quality awards, but does a fair job of it. Excellent battery life and quick performance are also key factors for the photographers at which this camera is targeted... ”

“ While I was not moved by Casio's new Exilim Z77, this model does offer image quality that is comparable to other manufacture's models as well as a plethora of useful pre-programmed "Best Shot" scene modes. Not to mention, one of the easiest to use fully automatic modes (Easy Mode). Taking this into consideration, with an MSRP of US$230 or under, I feel the EX-Z77 offers a good value for an "ultra-compact" 7-megapixel model... ”
