“ Although the Finepix Z20fd has a low price tag for a pocket sized digital camera I think there is better value for money to be had elsewhere. Picture quality is not all it could be and although it may get by for snapshot sized prints anything larger is likely to start showing the cracks... ”

“ It’s a slim and simple camera, but Fujifilm’s Finepix Z20fd will only suit amateur users who aren’t overly concerned with image sharpness and quality.... ”

“ Pocketable, compact, and available in a rainbow of fun colors, the Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd practically begs to be taken along for the ride. Its tiny body holds a 10-megapixel CCD, 3x optical zoom lens and a host of fun preset shooting modes and creative tools for shooting and editing files post-capture. Despite some issues with image noise at higher sensitivity settings and some strong blurring in the corners of the frame from the lens, the Fujifilm Z20fd's overall performance is pretty good. The FinePix Z20fd isn't our top choice in terms of image quality, as was the FinePix Z5fd, but it's a fun camera that's quick to learn and suitable for any experience level, with a reasonable price of under $200... ”

“ The Z20fd should be evaluated in light of the standards for a budget camera, and so in many areas where it came up short, it's not a shock. While it would have been nice to see Fuji improve on some of the areas where the Z10fd fell short, it simply wasn't meant to be this time around.

The Z20fd isn't a terrible camera, though: in many ways it's a good camera for the amateur user. It's compact, stylish, and affordable and takes decent shots indoors and outdoors. I enjoyed using it despite all its technical faults and would recommend it regardless for people who just want an easy-to-use compact camera with a little flair... ”

“ The Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd is designed to appeal to a particular demographic, and will probably find itself living in a small fashionable handbag next to a pink Motorola Razr mobile phone. For under £90 it delivers eye-catching style, durable build quality and simplicity of operation, along with reasonable performance and some fun features. Picture quality is a bit disappointing, especially the psychedelic colour saturation, but to be fair that's probably not a priority for its target audience... ”

“ It's cheap and it's colourful -- but so is Pick'n'Mix, and you wouldn't want that for every meal. If the representative of Generation Z in your life has their heart set on it, it won't ruin their lives, but we struggle to find anything exciting about the Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd.

There isn't a great deal of choice at this price point, but we'd suggest either the stylishly slim Casio Exilim EX-S10 or go for the novelty of a touchscreen with the gorgeous Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T70... ”

“ The bright colours might be a refreshing change, however the camera and its features aren't.

The Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd is a cheap digital camera and it feels like it. The compact design is still overly large, the video function lacking against the HD touting competition and the picture quality average rather than cracking.

We did like the Face Detecting feature, however this isn't enough to save the camera from an average score.

If you're looking for a good compact snapper, there are better options out there, even from Fujifilm itself... ”
