The Kodak EasyShare V1073 ($229.95 direct) is cursed with an unexciting design and a touch-screen user interface that's more confusing than it is convenient. This 10-megapixel shooter more than makes up for its dull aesthetics, though, with snappy response times, vivid colors, and the ability to record high-definition (1,280-by-720, 30-frame-per-second) video. Translation: It's pretty impressive....

Sometimes what appears to be a technological advance is actually a step backwards. Both the V1073 and V1273 are beautiful to look at, and the touch-screen interface, while a problem for some people, is well designed and operates fairly smoothly. However both cameras suffer from slow overall performance and serious image quality issues. Theyre marginally better value than the Sony T2, but not by much. ...

The Kodak Easyshare V1073 is a very nice, compact, 10-megapixel digital camera. The optical image stabilization and 3" touch screen LCD are great new features that really make the camera stand out. The camera has good performance and quality, but the battery life is a bit of a drawback. The difficulty of seeing the LCD screen outside in bright light is another thing that needs to be addressed. At an MSRP of US$229.95 this camera is worthy of consideration. ...
