“ The Kodak EasyShare V1273 is an easy to use camera, ideal for families and those who don't know (or want to know) much about photography. It is incredibly slow though, and the screen is hopeless in brightly lit situations which limits our ability to wholeheartedly recommend it... ”

“ At the end of the day, the V1273 isn't a bad little camera, though poor battery life, nearly unusable high-ISO settings, sluggishness in odd places, and images that seem to emphasize quantity of pixels over quality generally hurt its chances with consumers. As a device, the V1273 has a great look, but struggles at times to keep up appearances as a high-performance camera.
If the V1273 were a bit cheaper, it would likely earn a ringing endorsement from us as an alternative to current premium, touch interface ultracompacts like the Sony T cameras – offering most of the performance of these cameras at two-thirds of the price, say. As it is, given all of the great choices in this market segment if you're at all ambivalent about the touch screen this certainly isn't the camera for you, and even if the touch interface is important to you, there simply may be better options for the same money.... ”

“ Sometimes what appears to be a technological advance is actually a step backwards. Both the V1073 and V1273 are beautiful to look at, and the touch-screen interface, while a problem for some people, is well designed and operates fairly smoothly. However both cameras suffer from slow overall performance and serious image quality issues. They’re marginally better value than the Sony T2, but not by much. ... ”

“ All this combines to ensure that the V1273 is our favourite Kodak for a while and a decent all round compact for someone looking to undertake the4 occasional bit of video work. Only the rather tricky touch-screen interface lets the package down, and if you persevere with that, get used to it, and operate it more confidently, then we're sure this Kodak will grow on you. ... ”
