“ The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 is a decent all-around digital camera with a few desirable traits that set it apart from its peers. First off, it sports a 25mm wide angle lens, which allows shooters to capture more of that landscape or family portrait. The camera also offers a nice array of manual and automatic controls, including 22 Scene Modes and an Intelligent Auto (Easy) mode. This camera can capture 720P HD video, although its chosen compression is not impressive. In optimal shooting environments the Lumix DMC-FX35 will shine, but when the lights dim, so does the image quality. Images are brighter than most other cameras in low light, but noise is the same. There's also nothing exhilarating about the overall design of this camera, aside from a Mode dial and quick preset buttons. If typical compact zooms don't capture wide enough images and are too basic in terms of functionality, then the Lumix DMC-FX35 might be the answer. ... ”

“ The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX35 suited me very much. If you are looking for a camera with an interesting zoom range to be able to not only capture a landscape, but also a portrait, and you just want to make nice snapshots; the FX35 is an excellent combination that will give you a lot of joy. The purists among us, demanding as far as image quality is concerned, who want to use a handy compact camera in an all-round way, will criticize more. Too soon, too much noise is visible at low ISO settings, making the camera less all-round than desired. This is partly compensated for the effectively working MEGA O.I.S., yet it is still a missed chance. However; the Panasonic will find its way undoubtedly. The demanding photographer will probably go for the LX series Panasonic offer.

“ The Panasonic Lumix FX35 is a very stylish wide angle digicam with outstanding shooting performance. The 4x optical zoom with the 25mm wide angle lens and 10-megapixel imaging sensor really compliment the iA shooting mode and O.I.S. system. The only thing holding these camera back is the noise that is present in the dark areas of all the photographs, no matter what the ISO setting. With a MSRP of US$350, this camera is full of excellent features and a lens you wont find on any other camera. For shooting landscapes and outdoor photography, this camera will do nicely, but when you move inside or to darker lighting situations the noise will start to become a problem. ... ”

“ The Panasonic FX35 demonstrates just how much technology can be squeezed into even the tiniest camera bodies. It combines terrific build quality and aesthetic design with a class-leading wide-angle lens, decent performance, exceptionally good low light performance. Only the slightly annoying high-ISO noise prevents it scoring 10/10 in this area. If you are looking for a feature-packed luxury compact with wide zoom and image stabilisation then the FX35 is one of the best on the market.

“ The Panasonic FX35 is a well-built digicam with an impressive piece of glass, the Leica DC-Vario Elmarit that starts at a very wide 25mm equivalent and extends 4x to 100mm. Unfortunately that was where the fun stopped. The Panasonic FX35's menu system is painful to use, and basic functions like digital zoom are awkward or simply not functional. The Panasonic FX35 packs some smart photo technology inside, and if that was all anyone ever needed, it might make the grade. But that's not all anyone needs, really. iA mode is a better Auto for many situations, but none in which you want to control the camera. Ultimately, it comes down to image quality, and the Panasonic FX35 compromises just a little too much, with soft corners in images, and odd demosaicing that produces a grainy appearance across the image. Printed results aren't bad, though, so long as you keep them under 11x14 inches. So while it's not a bad little camera by any means, the Panasonic FX35 just doesn't rise to the level of a Dave's Pick.... ”
