Canon EOS 30D

Canon's proprietary high-resolution, low-noise CMOS sensor and DIGIC II imaging engine deliver high-speed, high-quality image processing and set the stage for creative Picture Style reflecting the intent of the photographer. The advanced image expression possible only with EOS DIGITAL cameras will continue to evolve with further advances in these technologies.

FEATURES

Color creativity

The molding technique highlighted the delicacy of a continuously curved form ( Perpetual Curve Design ), made the main body look more compact and enhanced the holding comfort when shooting. Employing a large 2.5-inch LCD monitor on the rear allows easy operation.

Develop RAW images taken with earlier digital cameras

Digital Photo Professional Ver.2.1, the latest edition of this software for editing RAW images, is now available. Picture Styles can also be applied to RAW images taken with earlier EOS DIGITAL cameras not equipped with Picture Style. And you can take your creative possibilities to new heights by applying Picture Style files downloaded from Canon's Web site.

Printing solutions

PIXMA Pro9500/Pro9000 printers make superior photoprinting even more accessible. Easy-PhotoPrint Pro produces beautiful prints with no loss of the uniqueness imparted by Picture Styles. Prints perfectly reflect the photographer's intentions.
Direct Printing, a function for printing directly from EOS DIGITAL cameras, has also been enhanced. Direct Printing now lets you perform sophisticated print work, even without a personal computer.

Select Picture Style depending on your subject, just as you would select film

Want to capture the deep blue sky in a landscape? or, the healthy appearance of a subject's skin? Picture Style offers six clearly named style presets that respond to demands for photographic expression that goes beyond the conventional. With Picture Style, you can select the appropriate Picture Style with certainty, when you shoot.

Unlimited customization through "User Defined" Picture Style

Adding to the six preset Picture Styles, the EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS 5D, and EOS 30D let you register up to three of your own Picture Styles. Using this function, you can refine preset Picture Styles or register new Picture Styles to suit particular subjects. "User Defined" Picture Styles let you efficiently create your own unique images.

Color creativity through the ablity to freely adjust sharpness, contrast, saturation, and color tone

The beauty of an image results from the confluence of various factors. Highness of resolution, lowness of noise, richness of coloration... Picture Style controls sharpness, contrast, saturation, and color tone to produce optimal colors for each subject. Proprietary Canon CMOS sensors, with their low-noise and broad dynamic range, and DIGIC II image processors vastly expand the realm of possibilities in image correction.

An interface for smooth viewing, selection, and processing of images

Digital Photo Professional features easy-to-understand interfaces for working with images. The Main window allows you to rapidly view multiple cuts, and the Edit Image window lets you display and fine-tune multiple images simultaneously. Digital Photo Professional is also equipped with a function for displaying images before and after correction, and other advanced functions that respond to the demands of the professional photographer.

RAW images adjustment with Picture Style

Digital Photo Professional Ver.2.1 lets you use Picture Styles to adjust RAW images. You can change Picture Styles for RAW images shot with an EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS 5D, or EOS 30D, and apply Picture Styles to RAW images shot with earlier EOS DIGITAL cameras that did not come with Picture Styles. Furthermore, color tone, saturation, contrast, and sharpness can be fine-tuned.
