Casio Exilim EX-Z1050

CASIO developed the new EX-Z1050 , as stylish and slim as any EXILIM, to enable an even greater variety of people to enjoy photography at the super high-resolution of 10.1 megapixels. At this amazing level of detail, photos print crystal-clear even in large sizes or when trimmed to show just part of the image. The EX-Z1050 is even smaller than the EX-Z1000 , but features CASIO's generous new 2.6-inch Wide and Bright LCD display. The camera's lightweight aluminum construction makes it a breeze to carry and gives it an unforgettable look.

FEATURES

10.1 Megapixel CCD-Chip

Brilliant peak performance: in its compact and elegant designer metal housing, the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1050 contains an unbelievable 10.1 megapixels – a real highlight that opens up completely new possibilities. With 10.1 megapixel resolution, you don't just get pictures of excellent quality, you can also trim photos to the size you wish, enlarge them, and print them out in the format of your choice. This way, the best moments and the smallest details can be captured for eternity on XXL posters, as well as in photos.

EXILIM Engine 2.0

Works quickly and provides great recording quality: the new EXILIM Engine 2.0. The extremely powerful image processor combines multiple components in a compact space, offering sufficient capacity for such features as the Auto Tracking AF function, hue adjustment to optimise dark areas, targeted noise elimination in critical colour areas and quick image processing. And the new EXILIM Engine 2.0 also ensures quick reaction times and long battery operating times – and all of this naturally with very low energy consumption.

Very bright 6.6 cm (2.6-inch) Wide Screen TFT colour display

New perspectives: the EX-Z1050 is equipped with an ultra-bright and wide 6.6 cm (2.6-inch) Wide Screen TFT colour display. With approx. 1000 cd/m²* the display also features above-average brightness, allowing the user to clearly view every subject, no matter how bright the sunlight. And to ensure that you have the best view in any situation, you can adjust the luminosity intensity as you wish to suit the individual lighting conditions. There are five default settings available for this purpose: 0/+1/+2/AUTO 1/AUTO 2
* Max. brightness: Measurement in the centre of the TFT colour display

3x optical zoom

Very close up: The quality lens of the EX-Z1050 makes the 3x optical zoom possible. You simply get closer to the motif with the practical zoom rocker switch.

Auto Framing

Auto Framing means that your subject is always in focus – and in the centre of your picture. This puts an end to photos where the moving subject is too close to the edge of the picture, or where part of it has even been cut off. Simply select Auto Framing from the BEST SHOT scenarios, focus on the moving subject, and take the photo.

The Anti Shake DSP*

The Anti Shake DSP* is tucked away in the slim designer housing of the EX-Z1050 , which reduces the danger of blurred photos if the camera is not held steadily or the motifs are moving. The Auto Macro function and the Quick Shutter take care in the meantime that your photos are correctly focussed.
* Electronic image and movie stabilizer

Highspeed Image Scrolling

Are you looking for something? With the Highspeed Image Scrolling function you can scroll through ten shots a second and thus find the right one quickly.

Re-Size/Trimming

Custom-made: With Re-Size/Trimming you can change the size of the picture already in the camera and sections of a picture can be saved as its own shot. In this way, you can for example cut out only the face of a person and have it printed as a photo without using a computer or complicated software.

9-Point Multi AF function

Entirely automatic: If you take photos using the multi-focus, the camera measures the distance from the motif with the 9-Point Multi AF function at nine different points and sets the right focusing range. In addition, all the measured areas are displayed simultaneously which were the object of the focussing procedure. This means that every picture is extremely crisply focused.

Auto Tracking AF function

Dogs running, kids jumping around, moving cars - there are countless examples of moving subjects, which can try the patience of even professional photographers. Thanks to the Auto Tracking AF function, you can relax and concentrate on the overall subject. The half-pressed release button sets the focus for saving, and the focus frame automatically follows the moving subject as long as the release button remains half-pressed - as soon as it is time to take the photo, simply "release"!

Highspeed continuous shooting

As standard: when you press and hold the release button, the EX-Z1050 takes a photo every second. With the super highspeed continuous shooting, up to seven photos* can be taken in the space of one second. The number of photos is limited only by the size of your memory card.
*Applies for normal picture quality and a resolution of 2 megapixels. Deviations are possible depending on the memory card used.

Various Flash

You can adapt the flash of the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1050 to different situations. The following presets are available for this:

  • Red Eye-Reduction: reduces the "red eye effect"
  • Rapid Flash: three photos with flash in 1 second
  • Soft Flash: for ideal illumination of the immediate area
  • Auto: flash is switched on automatically when required
  • On: flash always switched on
  • Off: flash always switched off

Photo Formats

The free choice of photo formats is an absolute highlight: you can choose between a 3:2, 4:3 and 16:9 format. That is particularly practical if you will be showing your pictures on a screen, television or video projector with this format. The 3:2 format is the classic format for photos. With the aid of the 4:3 format you can admire your photos on the TV or on your PC. The 16:9 format is best suited to plasma and LCD-televisions.

Super Life Battery

Extreme Power: Empty batteries are history. Thanks to new technologies, the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1050 uses much less energy, but at the same time have the extremely powerful Super Life Battery. With so much power, the camera is ready for use at that decisive moment and takes up to 370 shots non-stop. (as per CIPA Standard)

Non Deterioration Zoom

A real innovation ensures that the compact EX-Z1050 can provide a zoom of up to 17.1x. Enjoy entirely new possibilities in pocket format!

Continuous zoom shooting

Everything in view: With this function you get two photos at the same time when you press the shutter release once – one complete image and a selected detail. The divided display not only enables you to view both images, but also the practical illustration makes it easier for you to select the detail of the image you require. The quality of this detail depends on the resolution which was preset.
