The high resolution, 10.1 megapixel EXILIM Zoom EX-Z200 featurea an EXILIM series first — a 4x optical zoom lens that can shoot as wide as 28 mm (equivalent). Also, in addition to the usual recognition technologies, the intelligence of this camera has been enhanced. It incorporates automatic scene differentiation and allows the shutter to be released automatically. This camera also includes CCD shift anti shake function.

2.7 INCH LCD

The EXILIM EX-Z200 features an ultra-bright and wide 6.9 cm (2.7 inch) Wide Screen TFT colour display (super clear LCD) enabling viewing from almost any angle. Alongside the large visual angle and a high resolution of 230,160 pixels, the TFT colour display also delivers unusually high contrast of up to 1000:1, giving you a particularly clear and crisp view of your subjects. The display is unusually bright with up to 1000 cd/m²*, making it easier to view your images even in sunlight – five different pre-settings are available, allowing you to adjust the display brightness to the prevailing lighting conditions: 0/+1/+2/Auto1/Auto2

IMAGE STABILISATION SYSTEM

With the new, Mechanical CCD Shift technology, in conjunction with the Motion Analysis system and the Anti Shake DSP*, the risk of shaky photos is reduced to a minimum.

The CCD Shift system mechanically compensates for camera movements via a mobile image sensor. The Motion Analysis technology automatically analyses the speed and direction of a moving subject – ISO sensitivity and exposure time are then optimally adjusted as appropriate. The Anti Shake DSP* is the solution for electronically resolving the problem of picture blurriness caused by shaking hands or by the movement of the picture subject. And with the Film Stabilisation function*, there is a reduced risk of filming shaky scenes due to a wobbly camera grip.

AUTO SHUTTER FUNCTION

Blurred images are usually the result of an unsteady camera action or subjects that move while the release button is being pressed. EXILIM offers a simple solution to the problem of blurred or shaky photos: The new Auto Shutter function can automatically determine the perfect moment to take a photo.

Working in conjunction with the Anti Blur Auto Shutter, Pan Auto Shutter, Smile Detection Auto Shutter and Self Portrait Auto Shutter functions, the new technology ensures rapid focus and takes the photo automatically when the image is steady, so the result is not impaired.

SMILE DETECTION AUTO SHUTTER

Smile and the world smiles with you! The innovative Smile Detection Auto Shutter function ensures that you will never again miss that smile when taking photos. Press the release button as soon as you have the faces in the frame. The photo will then be taken, fully automatically, once the subjects are smiling.

ADVANCED AUTO TRACKING AF FUNCTION

Dogs running, kids jumping around, moving cars - there are countless examples of moving subjects, which can try the patience of even professional photographers. Thanks to the Auto Tracking AF function with motion analysis, you can relax and concentrate on the overall subject. Press the release button half way down, to fix the focus for saving – as soon as you see the picture you want, simply press release!

And here is how it works:
The 10.1-megapixel resolution makes it possible to use an innovative method: when the digital zoom is activated, pictures with resolutions from VGA up to 7 megapixels can be saved in the central area of the CCD chip and displayed at the corresponding zoom without any loss of quality. Depending on the resolution selected, this method allows you to achieve a zoom of 22.8x — and that will certainly get you close to the action.

9-POINT MULTI AF FUNCTION

If you take photos using the multi-focus, the camera measures the distance from the motif with the 9-Point Multi AF function at nine different points and sets the right focusing range. In addition, all the measured areas are displayed simultaneously which were the object of the focussing procedure. This means that every picture is extremely crisply focused.

INNOVATIVE H.264 MOVIES

Anything is possible. You just have to want it. With the EX-Z200, you can turn your brilliant ideas into digital reality – and in extremely high quality too, as the movies* are recorded in innovative H.264 format. The H.264 enables you to record up to 1.5x longer high resolution movies with sound than in MPEG-4** format, with the same memory space and in the same picture quality. EXILIM ENGINE 2.0

The extremely powerful EXILIM Engine 2.0 combines multiple components in a compact space, works extremely quickly and saves energy. The image processor also has sufficient capacity for the Advanced Auto Tracking AF function, hue adjustment to optimise dark areas, targeted noise elimination in critical colour areas and quicker image processing. The new EXILIM Engine 2.0 also ensures quick reaction times and long battery operating times — which creates great pictures.

VARIOUS FLASH

You can adapt the flash of the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z200 to different situations. The following presets are available for this:

USB DIRECT PRINT / PICTBRIDGE

You can connect the EXILIM EX-Z200 directly to a printer and have your pictures in your hand soon afterwards, printed on photo paper. USB Direct Print ist the standard EPSON printer. PictBridge connects your camera to different manufacturers' printers. Preset paper sizes help to select the right format.

RGB HISTOGRAM

The RGB histogram displays the fractions of red, green and blue. So you have an overview of the colour components in your picture and can correct if required, by adjusting the diaphragm or using colour filters. The RGB histogram is in addition to the black-and-white histogram, with which you can control the light/dark contrast of a motif.

TRIMMING

With trimming you can define sections of a photo while they are still in the camera and save them as separate shots. And so, for example, you can just cut a person's face and print it out as a photo - even without a computer.
