Gigantic views: With a full 2.5-inch the TFT colour display of the EX-Z5 is so large that it takes up almost the entire back of the camera. You can then use it to obtain a precise view of your motifs, stored photos or movies in crystal clear reproduction.

COMFORTABLE
Set for good photos: In Easy Mode you just take good photos in every situation with your EX-Z5 , without having to check presets - or accidentally making a wrong adjustment.
You don't have to be an expert to take fantastic pictures: In fact, the EX-Z5 has 33 flexible pre-settings for all sorts of situations to ensure that all photos turn out well automatically. With BEST SHOT you can create and save your own settings in a flash, too, and you can retrieve them at any time.
TV show instead of slide lecture: Invite your friends and relations to enjoy the best movies and photos in large-scale format. You simply connect your EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z5 to a TV using the AV output.
Questions on how it works? Many of the EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z5 functions are all but self-explanatory. The Icon Help function stands for small, helpful flashes on the camera screen that tell you about the setting you have currently selected.
Problem detected: With flash shots the background often remains dark. The subject is only slightly lit. The solution: Flash Assist. With this function the subject can, in many cases, still be corrected automatically.
FAST
Are you looking for something? With the Highspeed Image Scrolling function you can scroll through ten shots a second and thus find the right one quickly.
Impulsive people don't like waiting. And you don't have to either because with the EX-Z5 the time between focussing and pressing the button is only about 0.002 seconds.
With moving subjects an autofocus must keep resetting itself - and this wastes time. The quick shutter turns the autofocus off when the shutter is immediately pushed down fully. The time between pressing the shutter and shooting starting is now only 0.002 seconds.*
One after the other; If you keep the shutter release pressed, the EX-Z5 takes a photo every 0.8 seconds*.The number of photos is only limited by the size of your memory card. You can even take 3 photos per second with this system for taking photos rapidly one after the other.
*Quality: Normal, resolution: 2.816 x 2.112 Pixel, flash off. Deviations are possible depending on the CD card used.
INTELLIGENT
As you like: The EX-Z5 can save your photos and movies either on MMC memory cards or on SD cards. You can decide as and when you want to which of these optionally available cards you use.
No computer needed: you can connect the EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z5 directly to various printers and have your pictures in your hand shortly afterwards printed on photo paper. USB Direct Print ist the standard EPSON printer. PictBridge connects your camera to different manufacturers' printers. Preset paper sizes help to select the right format.
It is not always possible to assess a fault in lighting before taking the picture. When the release button is pressed down half way, the exposure warning is activated and draws your attention automatically to under or over lighting.
Getting the right angle: Pictures taken in a portrait format can be manually rotated for playback in landscape format. Now you don't have to turn the camera or your head in order to look at the picture.
POWERFUL
For high quality prints: The EX-Z5 offers 5 million pixels. Such high resolution photos give you the advantage of being able to print them in excellent quality or to edit them on the computer. And so you will also be able to enlarge details and photos to poster size.
New from old: If you photograph the contents of your old photograph album with the Revive Shot function, yellowed and pale colours are automatically refreshed and the photos are revived for a new and long life in digital form.
The Anti Shake DSP* is tucked away in the slim designer housing of the EX-Z5 , which reduces the danger of blurred photos if the camera is not held steadily or the motifs are moving. The Auto Macro function and the Quick Shutter take care in the meantime that your photos are correctly focussed.
Colour control: The RGB histogram represents the proportions of red, green and blue on the display. The RGB histogram is a supplement to the black/white histogram, with which you can check the light/dark contrast of a motif.
INDIVIDUELL
A piece of jewellery: The silver metal case of the EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z5 is exclusively made from finest quality materials. Thus the camera possesses the strikingly elegant brilliance of the authentic EXILIM.
As you like: Use the Button Customizer to assign one of five functions to the EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z5 cursor keys. Then you will have quick access to the focus, the EV displacement, the white balance, the ISO setting and the self-timer.
Diary: The calendar function offers a new way to store your photos. For each day that you have taken a picture, a photo is displayed as an example. In this way you can find pictures more easily or you can make a photo diary. At a glance you can see parts of what you experienced on vacation on that particular day.
