Casio Exilim EX-Z80

EX-Z80 digital camera features a very compact, tightly formed design which offers the functionality needed to easily take photos and shoot movies, yet also offers a design feel conducive to carrying it around almost like a fashion accessory. It is available in six body colors — pale pink, vivid pink, green, blue, black, and silver. With this model, Casio has sought to create both functionality and design that are "easier" and "more fun."

8.1 MEGAPIXEL CCD

In its compact and elegant designer casing, the EXILIM EX-Z80 has an integrated high-performance 8.1 megapixel CCD chip. With 8.1 megapixel resolution, you not only create photos in outstanding quality and colour, but can also edit sections of the picture, enlarge them and print them out in your format of choice. This way, your most memorable moments and even the smallest details can be captured for eternity on XXL posters, as well as in photos.

3X OPTICAL ZOOM

The EX-Z80 is only about as thick as your little finger - but has a 3x optical zoom. And so you will be able to see the finest details and will always be in the thick of the action.

2.6 INCH LCD

At 6.6 cm (2.6-inch), the Wide Screen TFT colour display of the EX-Z80 is so large and wide that it takes up almost the entire rear side of the camera. This outstanding display enables you to take a closer look at your motifs, saved photos or films.

Anything is possible. You just have to want it. With the EX-Z80, you can turn your brilliant ideas into digital reality – and in extremely high quality too, as the movies* are recorded in innovative H.264 format. The H.264 enables you to record up to 1.5x longer high resolution movies with sound than in MPEG-4** format, with the same memory space and in the same picture quality. Extremely practical: The movie clips are optimized automatically for YouTube™ with the new YouTube™ Capture Mode.

EXILIM ENGINE 2.0

The extremely powerful EXILIM Engine 2.0 combines multiple components in a compact space, works extremely quickly and saves energy. The image processor also has sufficient capacity for the hue adjustment function used to optimise dark areas of your pictures, targeted noise elimination in critical colour areas and quicker image processing. And the new EXILIM Engine 2.0 also ensures quick reaction times and long battery operating times – which creates great pictures.

HIGHSPEED CONTINUOUS SHOOTING

When you press and hold the release button, the EX-Z80 takes a photo every second. With the super highspeed continuous shooting, up to 5 photos* can be taken in the space of one second. The number of photos is limited only by the size of your memory card.

FACE DETECTION FUNCTION

Whether you're on holiday, at a party or spending time with your family - people are particularly popular subjects for a photo. It's a shame if faces turn out to be blurred. Practical: The Face Detection function recognises faces and automatically calculates the optimum setting for focus. Once it has recognised a face, it tracks it for as long as it remains within the image area.

FACE RECOGNITION FUNCTION

The Face Detection function recognizes faces in the picture. Extremely clever: The Face Recognition function can save up to 6 faces via a biometric mask. If several faces appear on a photo when taking a picture, the Face Recognition function focuses primarily on faces which have been saved previously in the family register. This enables you to set "preferences" for certain people when taking a photograph at family celebrations.

DIRECT ON FUNCTION

Whilst other cameras are still moving the lens out, you will take the best photos and make the best movies by far thanks to the DIRECT ON function. Your camera is ready to take photos at the press of a button – in only approx. 1,4 s*.

BEST SHOT-BUTTON

BEST SHOT motif settings are extremely practical and therefore can be accessed immediately at the touch of a button. From "Landscape" to "Sunset" your EX-Z80 readily adjusts to the most varied demands, regardless of whether you are taking photos or movies.

AUTO SHUTTER FUNCTION

Blurred images are usually the result of an unsteady camera action or subjects that move while the release button is being pressed. EXILIM offers a simple solution to the problem of blurred or shaky photos: The new Auto Shutter function can automatically determine the perfect moment to take a photo.

Working in conjunction with the Anti Blur Auto Shutter, Pan Auto Shutter, Smile Detection Auto Shutter and Self Portrait Auto Shutter functions, the new technology ensures rapid focus and takes the photo automatically when the image is steady, so the result is not impaired.

SMILE DETECTION AUTO SHUTTER

Smile and the world smiles with you! The innovative Smile Detection Auto Shutter function ensures that you will never again miss that smile when taking photos. Press the release button as soon as you have the faces in the frame. The photo will then be taken, fully automatically, once the subjects are smiling.

DATE EDIT FUNCTION

Does the wrong date appear, because you have changed the settings without realizing it? Or was the time on the clock not adapted to the local time when travelling? The Date Edit function has the perfect solution to precisely these problems. The date and time can be corrected easily after the photo has been taken.

RGB HISTOGRAM

The RGB histogram displays the fractions of red, green and blue. So you have an overview of the colour components in your picture and can correct if required, by adjusting the diaphragm or using colour filters. The RGB histogram is in addition to the black-and-white histogram, with which you can control the light/dark contrast of a motif.
