Casio Exilim EX-Z85

The EX-Z85 comes with a Face Recognition function that can detect the presence of up to 10 people's faces and then give priority to the faces of pre-registered people for correct focus and exposure, and an Auto Shutter function, which automatically takes a photo the instant camera shake ceases, as well as a Movie button that lets users easily record widescreen movies. The design of the focus frame and the color of the menu screen can be customized in accordance with each user's wishes, and the camera comes in eight colors - silver, black, vivid pink, pink, blue, green, brown and orange. This camera delivers high performance with a compact, stylish look.

FACE DETECTION FUNCTION

Whether you're on holiday, at a party or spending time with your family - people are particularly popular subjects for a photo. It's a shame if faces turn out to be blurred. Practical: The Face Detection function recognises faces and automatically calculates the optimum setting for focus. Once it has recognised a face, it tracks it for as long as it remains within the image area.

EXILIM ENGINE 2.0

The extremely powerful EXILIM Engine 2.0 combines multiple components in a compact space, works extremely quickly and saves energy. The image processor also has sufficient capacity for the hue adjustment function used to optimise dark areas of your pictures, targeted noise elimination in critical colour areas and quicker image processing. And the new EXILIM Engine 2.0 also ensures quick reaction times and long battery operating times – which creates great pictures.

HIGHSPEED CONTINUOUS SHOOTING

When you press and hold the release button, the EX-Z85 takes a photo every second. With the super highspeed continuous shooting, up to 5 photos* can be taken in the space of one second. The number of photos is limited only by the size of your memory card.

WIDE MOVIE SHOOTING

The Wide Movie shooting mode can be used to make video recordings in 16:9 Wide Screen format. So you can watch your videos on a plasma or LCD television in Wide Screen format, and say goodbye to annoying black edges or distorted images.

MOVIE STABILISATION FUNCTION

The movie stabilisation function* can reduce the risk of filming scenes which are wobbly because the camera has not been held still. This function can stabilise unwanted movements, which often produces better pictures.

9-POINT MULTI AF FUNCTION

If you take photos using the multi-focus, the camera measures the distance from the motif with the 9-Point Multi AF function at nine different points and sets the right focusing range. In addition, all the measured areas are displayed simultaneously which were the object of the focussing procedure. This means that every picture is extremely crisply focused.

RGB HISTOGRAM

The RGB histogram displays the fractions of red, green and blue. So you have an overview of the colour components in your picture and can correct if required, by adjusting the diaphragm or using colour filters. The RGB histogram is in addition to the black-and-white histogram, with which you can control the light/dark contrast of a motif.

AUTO SHUTTER FUNCTION

Blurred images are usually the result of an unsteady camera action or subjects that move while the release button is being pressed. EXILIM offers a simple solution to the problem of blurred or shaky photos: The new Auto Shutter function can automatically determine the perfect moment to take a photo.

Working in conjunction with the Anti Blur Auto Shutter, Pan Auto Shutter, Smile Detection Auto Shutter and Self Portrait Auto Shutter functions, the new technology ensures rapid focus and takes the photo automatically when the image is steady, so the result is not impaired.

SMILE DETECTION AUTO SHUTTER

Smile and the world smiles with you! The innovative Smile Detection Auto Shutter function ensures that you will never again miss that smile when taking photos. Press the release button as soon as you have the faces in the frame. The photo will then be taken, fully automatically, once the subjects are smiling.
