Pentax Optio W80 user reviews Date: 2009-06-29 - 07:31:58 Author: Meccky Rating:    Pixel Track SR mode When recording still images, the Optio W80’s Pixel Track SR (Shake Reduction) mode effectively compensates for camera shake by processing the amount of image blur with a dedicated ASIC. Pixel Track SR tracks motion blur at the pixel level and calculates blur volume in real time. After exposure, the recovery filter centers the motion effect around each pixel to compartmentalize the blur. Then, an adjustment filter sharpens the pixels to help remove the blur effect. Pixel Track SR results in sharp images without adding high ISO noise. Does not appear to be a simple increase the ISO to increase the shutter speed function like previous models. Seems like the shutter speed stays slow and a blurry image is signal averaged to create a "sharp" one. Who knows how much detail and image accuracy is lost.......i suspect it will be fine for web postings and snapshots but will fail for larger resolution prints. Pure conjecture, though.
