For me, this camera ist simply one-hundred-percent and I love it. Working SR, fast AF, very good image quality. Dark room the AF is a bit lousy, but show me one, which handles better, at this price. ;)
I am fascinated since the very first moment and highly recommend it for anyone who is going to buy a very good cam with a lot of features.
Buying a great Cam at no risk.

Great camera and very good value for money.
The SR works realy well. I also like the fact that you can still just pop in penlites if you run out of power and with CRV3 you can go n long way. The camera has a good feel to it and not too small like some cameras.
Problems:
-Auto WB not perfect.
-Battery door.

I have owned a lot of film cameras, everything/brand from Brownie Hawkeye through 2.5 SLR film. I started with point and shoot at 2 Mp up to 8MP (C-8080) before migrating to this Excellent DSLR. In my 60 years of photograpy I personnally never had occassion to shot sequentially more than 3-5 shots at one time. Cameras like cars are very personal and we tend to defend our brand loyalty. When you try this camera you will like the feel and the images it produces. If it does not fit your hands or needs, either real or imagined then look elsewhere, if your needs are imagined you may never be satisified requardless of what you buy. I would guess most amatures or advanced user are not doing poster sized prints and anything more than 6MP would be overkill for most of us. Shoot what you like and learn to like what you shoot or you will always be chasing the latest and greatest toy (camera). The kit lens does a VG job, and the 50-200 is excellent also. I also have an older 70-300 from my SLR (35mm) day that works very well with the K100D. I can not say enough about the SR as I near my 70's this is a feature that I never turn off unless the camera is on the tripod.
