Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600

The new point-and-shoot Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 (DSC600) combines great design and compactness with improved features such as a Sony developed 6.0 effective Megapixel Super HAD CCD combined with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3 x Optical Zoom lens, ensuring superb image quality every time - ideal as a first step into digital photography.

FEATURES

A high quality shooting and sharing experience

Pictures taken with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 digital camera have a high resolution thanks to a 6.0 effective Megapixel Sony Super HAD CCD and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x Optical Zoom lens combined with High Sensitivity producing sharp images. The large, bright 2.0-inch screen on the rear of the camera allows you to clearly frame, view and review images with ease. Plus, you'll never miss a shot thanks to the great STAMINA battery life*.

'Anti-Blur' technology for sharper images

Thanks to the Cyber-shot S600's High Sensitivity 'anti-blur' technology you can shoot in difficult conditions, such as low light, without the risk of hand shake blurring your pictures. It also allows you to capture fast moving objects with reduced blur, likewise you can be moving (such as in a car) shooting a stationary object - an option that is not possible if you're just using image stabiliser technology. High Sensitivity even allows you to shoot with out the flash, resulting in pictures that are as sharp as when using a flash but more naturally lit.

Traditionally High Sensitivity would lead to an increase in noise, however utilising the newly developed Clear RAW NR feature, the signal to noise ratio is greatly improved. The Sony Clear RAW NR original algorithm system reduces colour and luminance noise, enabling shooting with significantly higher sensitivity (up to ISO 1000). This ensures images with less noise and finer detail. This is especially beneficial when shooting in low-light conditions.

Great new Flash and Wide-Angle lens for better shots first time

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600Another great feature of the new Sony DSC-S600 camera is an improved super strong flash. It is capable of taking shots using the flash from up to 11m away from the subject (at ISO 1000), that's approximately 3x the distance when compared to previous models. So you will have greater success in capturing more beautiful, well-illuminated shots with just one shot.  Not only this, but now you can squeeze even more landscape, friends or views into a single shot thanks to the Cyber-shot S600's superb 31mm (35mm equivalent) Wide-Angle Carl Zeiss Lens - normally only found on more expensive cameras

Sony and Carl Zeiss in partnership

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600The compact body of the Cyber-shot S600 houses a Sony developed 6.0 effective Megapixel Super HAD CCD. This, combined with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x Optical Zoom lens (7 elements in 6 groups), ensures crystal clear shots every time. If you need to zoom even more, no problem: the camera features a 6x Precision Digital Zoom, and a 13x VGA Smart Zoom to help you view subjects near and far. With the 16:9 shooting mode you can even shoot wide-screen images for playback on your wide-screen TV.

Always ready

Battery performance is not a problem for the Sony DSC-S600 digital camera - with its improved Sony STAMINA technology, you can take up to an amazing 460* shots on a single charge of two optional 2500mAh Ni-MH batteries. To keep up with the shooting ability the camera offers, its Real Imaging Processor provides an amazingly rapid camera response time.

Shooting for any occasion

Whatever the occasion, there is bound to be a suitable setting to capture it amongst the seven pre-set Scene Selection modes, including Twilight, Snow, Beach and High Sensitivity functions. Just choose your preferred mode: the shutter speed and exposure has all been pre-set for worry-free and convenient shooting. The Cyber-shot S600 also features a manual exposure if you feel like being a little more creative.

Worry-free Memory

Worry-free shooting is a reality with the Cyber-shot S600's 32MB internal memory. You can also shoot and store pictures on an optional Sony Memory Stick Duo™ or Memory Stick PRO Duo™, but with the internal memory you can be safe in the knowledge you will never miss a great photo opportunity again.

Greater Appeal

The Cyber-shot S600 also features PictBridge, the standard for printing directly to compatible PictBridge photo printers, such as the Sony DPP-FP50. A great range of optional accessories are also available for the Cyber-shot S600, such as durable soft carry cases available in Black (LCS-SA/B) or Blue (LCS-SA/L) and a convenient starter kit (ACC-CN3TR) containing Case, Charger and Ni-MH Batteries.
